Spring is in full bloom and I don’t know about your house but around here spring fever is thick in the air. Our son has three and a half days of school left. Our younger daughter has two and a half weeks. And our oldest? Our oldest has a week and a half and her high school career will be over. Where does the time go?
It seems like you blink and they go from this
To this
In 3 months she will be gone. Starting a brand new adventure. College. In a different state. I am very happy for her. I am very proud of her. I am missing her already. So as I find myself knee deep in the inevitable busyness that comes with a school year coming to a close I am also trying to take advantage of the small moments in each day when we can laugh, reminisce, plan, and just plain enjoy each others company.
In our back entry hall hangs this picture.
It’s a little more rustic than most things in our house but both my husband and I knew when we saw it that it had to be ours. Now as we head out the door each morning we are reminded to take note of the little things. I never want my “to do” list to crowd out the “aha” moments of each day.
With a graduation open house approaching fast, dorm accessories to pick out, multiple projects planned, and trying to figure out this whole blogging business, I admit that sometimes I’m moving so fast that I miss the many “aha” moments in my day. So this week I am working on our back entryway. Right now all that’s in there is the above picture and a built in bench that our pup ”tasted”. All right. All right. He chewed on the corner when he was teething. Nothing like a puppy to take the ”new” right out of a new house. Anyway, check back soon for a new and improved entryway.
In the meantime, take time in your day to notice the little things. Before you know it… they are grown up and leaving the nest.
Happy Monday!

Oh, my goodness the time has flown by way too quickly! What a pretty dress and no wonder she liked it.
The “little things” matter a lot, don”t they? Look forward to seeing your projects each week or so.
